CityX launches in Zagreb: an open test phase for the city's residents

CityX is pleased to announce that the CityX app is available for the City of Zagreb from today. With this release, the platform that already serves several cities in Croatia and Belgium is being made available to the residents of the capital in an open test phase.

CityX is a city information platform that brings the daily information a city's residents need together in one application. Each city on the platform selects the services it offers; residents use them free of charge. Zagreb is the largest city to join the platform so far and, as such, the most demanding environment in which to assess the app's quality and reliability.

Services available in Zagreb

Sixteen services are available from the first day, organised on a single home screen. Residents receive current warnings and earthquake notices, the weather forecast, air quality, pollen and UV index readings, as well as sunrise, sunset and lunar phase data. Mobility services cover public transport departures from the nearest stop, train departures from Zagreb Glavni kolodvor on a chosen line, street closures with their duration, the traffic index on the main roads and the availability of public bicycles. Sports followers can keep up with Dinamo Zagreb's fixtures.

Two further services address the city as a whole. The Barometer measures residents' satisfaction with life in the city through short daily questions and presents a monthly reading. Accountability gives a concise overview of the cost of the city's shortcomings, presented as a single indicator.

The open test phase

The release in Zagreb is organised as an open test phase. The purpose is to verify, under real conditions and at the scale of a large city, that each service delivers accurate and timely information. During this period the CityX team monitors the quality of all services and continuously improves them based on user feedback.

An invitation to Zagreb's residents

We invite all residents of Zagreb to install the CityX app from the App Store or Google Play, select Zagreb as their city and use the app in their daily routine. Feedback on the accuracy and usefulness of the services, as well as suggestions for improvement, can be sent to info@cityx.hr or shared in the Community section of the app.

Every observation received during the test phase contributes directly to the development of the app, both for Zagreb and for every other city on the CityX platform. We thank Zagreb's residents in advance for their participation.
